About the Editor
Hi. My name is Dennis Reischl, and I edit this site.
I appreciate your dropping by for a visit, and hope you will find the information available here to be useful. I also hope you won't hesitate to get in touch with any questions, or any ideas on how the site or its contents could be improved.
In case we've not met previously, I'll give you a quick snapshot of my background. In sum, I've been involved in federal labor relations in one way or another since entering the federal service in 1975.
I started out as an LR Specialist with Region 3, GSA, and went on from there to become an LR Instructor with OPM's Labor Relations Training Center.
A few years later I became a regional LR Advisor with the Department of Navy, and represented Navy and Marine Corps facilities throughout the Southeastern U.S. and Puerto Rico in bargaining and 3rd party disputes.
I then spent a couple years in private sector LR with Wisconsin Electric Power Co., and went on to co-found FPMI Communications. Later I served as Executive Editor of Federal Products for LRP Publications during the development of cyberFEDS and SmartAnswers.
I returned to the government in 2001 and spent the final seven years of my federal career as Chief Labor Negotiator for the U.S. Customs Service and its successor, U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Lately I've been focused on developing interactive, experience-based, online and blended training for federal LR practitioners, supervisors and managers---and doing some woodworking whenever I can find the time.
I remain as interested as ever in the twists and turns of federal LR. So if you have an LR issue, problem, or idea you'd like to kick around, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Just send me an email, and I'll get back to you in short order. Unless, of course, I'm out wreaking havoc on some unfortunate wood. :-)
About the Site
The information presented here is available for the use of all. Please note, however, that the contents of this site are developed by a former management representative, and undoubtedly that perspective shows through.
The information presented on this site is, to the best of my ability and knowledge, accurate and correct. But it neither pretends, nor aspires to be viewed as absolutely neutral in tone or outlook.
I can understand how that might not be palatable to some visitors. But if that is the case, I'd recommend that you simply look elsewhere for a more copacetic viewpoint, rather than becoming annoyed. It is, as they say, what it is.
That being said, regardless of your affiliation or viewpoint, please feel free to read, download, reproduce and/or distribute the materials you see on this site, so long as you retain the original copyright and format intact.
If you have any questions, suggestions, ideas, or comments on features included on this site, or improvements you would like to see to it, please let me know. Enjoy. Dennis
